Schier Products is a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of wastewater cleanup tanks. We want to help the sidelined Gulf fishing industry get back to work and also clean up the waters as soon as possible. We have designed a simple yet effective oil/water separator that we believe addresses both problems. The Skiff Skimmer™ was designed with considerations for a maximum 8'x8' footprint (typical to that seen with a Lafitte Skiff).
Skiff Skimmer tanks offer the following features:
• Made from affordable, impact resistant High Density Polyethylene
• Molded, fully closed top with 15 in. to 20 in. Accessway
• Built-in clear PVC sight glass & bottom separated water drain valve.
How it works
The operator would pump oil-laden water into the tanks directly from Gulf using a high powered pump (not included). The oil will separate to the top of the tank, and the water "layer" at the bottom of the tank can then be drained off using the bottom outlet valve. The process is repeated until the tank is full of oil as seen through the sight glass, and is ready for correct disposal.
